With my wedding just 18 months away I wanted to make an early start on getting in shape. Although I had motivation, a couple of trips to the gym on my own made me realise that I lacked the self discipline, knowledge and expertise to see it through effectively.

The only good thing to come from these initial visits to Banks O'Dee was that I observed other gym users receiving personal training from Fitness Beyond. Once signed up, the objective of significant trimming around the waistline and improvement of my shape in general was set.

Scott immediately assessed my eating over the course of a typical week and devised a plan for me to follow which I duly did, and coupled with his tuition in the gym, results started to happen quickly. The eating plan Scott gave me did involve quite a change to my regular eating habits, but it was done so that I could take a break at the weekends as a reward for my efforts on weekdays.

After a couple of months though my weight loss and the inches coming off my waist levelled slightly. However, another tweak to the eating plan and a slight change to my programme and we were on our way again. Eventually we got to three and a half stone lost and nine inches lost from my tummy, I would never have believed it a year ago.

Although it was tough at the beginning, Scott's constant encouragement and great advice meant there really was no way I was going to fail. What impressed most was that the training programme designed for me very quickly became as enjoyable as it was challenging.

I am a 22 years old student studying at University. I have always lived an active life, playing football, rugby and doing a lot of cycling. Despite doing these sports I never obtained the visual benefits of leading such an active life. I initially came to fitness beyond as I wished to increase fitness and endurance to help better myself in those respects. I was a bit sceptical as I never really believed in weights to help improve on these attributes. However I committed fully to what Scott and Dean were telling me in terms of Diet and exercise.

I changed my workout routine with guidance from both Scott and Dean, to incorporate three days of high intensity all body resistance workouts. These sessions lasted about 30 minutes to an hour. Every session was challenging and either Scott or Dean who ever took the session really pushed me out of my comfort zone but they did so in a positive and encouraging way.

After 5 and a bit weeks following advice on diet and exercise from Scott and Dean, I have never felt so healthy or fitter in my life. Performance wise I have increased endurance, strength and agility. Visually I have lost inches of my waist and lost the unwanted fat. I have added muscle and definition.

Both Scott and Dean are really nice guys they make you feel good about yourself and they really instil self-confidence. I left every session buzzing and looking forward to my next one. Both guys have a vast amount of knowledge on physical training and they were always at hand to provide me with answers to my questions.

initially contacted Scott because I knew I wanted to do something about changing my body shape. I just didn’t know how to go about it.

I was one of those people who went to the gym, followed the routine I was given, but completely ignored anything whatsoever to do with diet and if I’m honest, If I didn’t see results then and there I lost interest pretty quickly.

Even after the first consultation with Scott I could see that I’d have someone encouraging me and pushing me to stick with it all the way. On top of Scott’s enthusiasm for me to do well, being a ‘canny Scot’ myself, after paying my money I wasn’t going to see it go to waste.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed both weights and cardio sessions and along with the healthier eating plans provided, these have become a lifestyle rather than a chore. I still get to have a few ‘treats’ at the weekend, but now I actually appreciate them, rather than them being the norm.

Loosing my gut, man-boobs and extra weight has not only improved my health and posture, it has increased my confidence ten fold. I’m now looking forward to one of the first summers since high school that I won’t have to hide under baggy jumpers or XL T-shirts. The only down side is I’m spending a fortune clothes shopping as nothing fits anymore.

Although I’ve achieved what I set out to do with all Scott’s help, I aim to continue my training with Fitness Beyond and set myself some new goals. That 6-pack can’t be too far away, Men’s Fitness cover here I come ?!!!

Well, what can I say that hasn't already been said .....

I was a regular gym user, relatively fit, but unable to change my body shape and weight due to lack of motivation, "yo yo" dieting & the fitness program I was doing. After a two week holiday where I came back bloated, sluggish and unfit I decided I HAD to do something!

Scott came highly recommended to me by one of his clients and went beyond all expectations that I had. Not only do you get someone who is very knowledgeable in his field, but he also is someone with enthusiasm and dedication to improving his clients.

I am more than please with the results I have achieved in the first 5 months. He has pushed me a lot harder and further than I could ever have managed myself, and has kept me laughing throughout the pain! It also helps that he is a thoroughly decent bloke who is really down to earth. I couldn't rate him highly enough and I think my photo's speak for themselves.

When I was dropped from the British Children’s Ski Team, I realised that I had to do something to improve my fitness. I was finding it hard to exercise on my own apart from the occasional bike ride.

This is when my parents and I came to the conclusion that we should look for a personal trainer, but only being fourteen made it slightly more difficult as some trainers didn’t like the idea of me using a gym. Fortunately someone at my dad’s work had recommended Scott and I started immediately after a consultation.

I trained with Scott 2-3 times a week and after just two weeks, we already notice a vast improvement in my fitness. I can also say that I enjoyed every session, he made it fun and he still managed to motivate me to push myself further than I thought I could.

After just 4 months of fitness training I am glad to say that I have regained my place in the British Children’s Ski Team and would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to Scott for all of his hard work and enthusiasm that he has shown.

I was in my late forties and was feeling gutty and finding that my weight was creeping up. My present fitness regime of Swimming/yoga was no longer working.

I was picking up odd injuries like housemaids knee which required physio. I had never been inside a gym and had certainly never lifted a weight. I made the decision to get myself fit and contacted Scott via his web site.

The aim was to loose a little weight and get a little fitter. We have achieved those aims but the bonuses have been increased energy levels, a boyish figure and a return to the tennis court after a seven year gap caused by chronic tennis elbow.

With a holiday on the horizon and I fast approach the BIG 40, I was starting to find my motivation for the gym slipping and my waist size increasing. I felt the time had come to try to get things back on track, but I was quite skeptical of results due to my work routine offshore - which gives me limited time to train, leaving me only 2 weeks of every month onshore.

After an initial consultation, Scott put together an intense weights/CV routine plus a sensible eating plan, which motivated me in itself. I quickly felt and saw results.

With every session, Scott would push me out of my comfort Zone, without me realising it and at the same time motivating me a great deal. His knowledge and advice was invaluable. At last count I have lost 11lbs and I feel and look better than I did 10 years ago.

After going to the gym regularly and not seeing the results I wanted, I decided I needed the proper guidance and motivation if I was to lose weight, change my body shape and increase my overall level of fitness.

I contacted Scott at Fitness Beyond and on chatting with him, he put me at ease and I felt I could achieve the targets which he initially set at the start. I realised at this point that I would also have to be disciplined outside of the gym if I wanted the results

My programme consisted of a healthy eating plan (advised regularly by Scott), short intense cardio sessions and weight training exercises. He pushed me on weekly basis sometimes without me even realising it. After the sessions I would leave the gym on a high.

After spending 5 months training with Scott I have reached my target weight, my body shape changed dramatically and my fitness levels have rose to an all time high.

I like many people have a weight that Yo Yo's up and down and have spells where I either do no exercise or I have periods where I am never out of the gym. I decided to contact Fitness Beyond primarily to get fit for a holiday and secondary to gain a knowledge of personal fitness training that I can use later on my own.

I spoke with Scott after a work collegues recommendation and after our first meeting and seeing the results that have been achieved previously on his website I was left in no doubt that my goals could be reached and I could not wait to get going!

Scott is not one of these guys who is just out to get your money, where possible scott will advise you what work you can do on your own to prevent using up session time. Scott is a genuine guy who very much becomes a friend rather than an instructor.

Scott has been working with my sons, Chris and Liam for a number of months. Liam started working with Scott because he plays football and felt he was lacking speed and stamina and this was lowering his self confidence and self esteem and as a result was having a knock on affect on his football with him being on the subs bench for a few weeks.

Scott has done wonders with Liam both physically and mentally. Liam is much stronger, fitter and faster but also scott has worked on his self confidence and self esteem. Liam is now back playing football we all knew he could and continues to work with Scott as he sees these sessions as part of his weekly training pattern.

Chris started having sessions with Scott because he felt he was overweight and out of shape. Over just a few months Chris has lost 3 and a half stones and is a different person. He has went from doing no exercise and eating junk food to going to the gym every day and eating really healthilly. He is now looking to work on building his body now that he has lost his weight and I know that with Scott behind him he will succeed.

Scott has done wonders for both boys and they dont see having a session with him a chore because they enjoy the sessions so much. I can only thank scott for working with the boys and as a mother it is great to see them fit and happy.

Following my first consultation with Scott I was filled with confidence that my set goals were actually achievable. Scott's knowledge and enthusiasm pushed me to believe that I could surpass the motivational blip and get on with it.

The programme initially consisted of a combination of healthy eating and short/intense cardio sessions, progressing on to a variation of weights, combined with light cardio. I began to see quick changes in my body, and as the weeks went on I wanted to see more, so once again Scott raised the bar.

I first met Scott in February this year. Having lost weight through an initiative at work I found it hard to progress my fitness. The volume of training information available through books, magazines and colleagues was simply over whelming.

Unable to decide on a training regime I contacted Scott. I thought I was reasonably fit before, but I was quickly corrected when our sessions started. Scott is there raising the bar, literally, with you on all the exercises and routines, pushing you past the barriers of the previous sessions.

I went to see Scott after a friend suggested he might be able to help me sort out my diet to enable me to lose some weight, feel healthier and improve my running.

Whilst training for a marathon I was feeling tired and lethargic which was making training very difficult. Scott gave me a simple eating plan to follow and I have not looked back since.

After the first week I felt 100% better - no tiredness and plenty energy. He also guided me through a programme of weights in the weeks prior to my marathon and I began to see significant improvements in both my body shape and my running performance. I completed my marathon with no problems and recovered very quickly. Scott also has great patience and a sense of humour which makes him very easy to get on with.

I first heard of Fitness Beyond through a friend and thought nothing ventured. First started seeing Scott in Mid March 2007. I felt it was a win-win situation to try this (never been to see a personal trainer before) as my eating habits and my exercise routine (lack of it) had went a bit pear shaped. I knew that if I didn’t do something to address this then I would continue to feel lethargic and unfit in the coming Summer months - not a good thought.

Since seeing Scott I have been made much more aware of the positive benefits of healthy eating which is something I had never really looked at closely before. When informed about this, he put this across in an easy to understand manner.

As a result of seeing Scott, and being aware that I would need to put in effort and discipline myself, I have lost a significant amount of weight - 17lb in the space of 6 weeks (working to keep this going) and I feel more energised. First talked to Scott on January 9th this year. I explained to him that I have been going to the gym for several years without getting the results that I hoped for. This was mainly due to a poor diet and low impact exercising.

Scott has totally transformed my training schedule which has also included a healthy eating plan. His help support and guidance has enabled me to lose approx 1.1/2 stone in body weight after the first six weeks. Which has absolutely amazed me. Fitness Beyond is a great way to get you back on the road to fitness and well being. I had tried various paths including medical and alternative therapies to discover why I was having issues with my lower back and it turns out that all I needed was more exercise! 

Scott worked closely with me to create an exercise plan using both cardio and weights that I was capable of following and at the same time would protect and help strengthen my back - and it's worked! I am still very much a work in progress but am very pleased with where I've got to so far.

Scott is easy to get on with, very enthusiastic and knowledgeable regarding diet and exercise and before he lets you loose in the gym by yourself, ensures that you know how to do every exercise properly for maximum gain.

Scott practices what he preaches and has the body to prove it. Should your willpower be lacking at any time, Scott is a big source of inspiration!!

Long before setting foot into a gym, I always had the desire to transform my body through nutrition and excercise. Years of being lazy and eating whatever I wanted had caught up with me unexpectedly. I was unhealthy, fat and didn't feel confident with my body.

I made the decision to join a gym and get in shape, it was there I met Scott. He gave me a brief introduction about his personal training and before long I started my plan.

After 4 weeks of training and giving 100% I seen little results, this was very frustrating at the time but I was re-assured by Scott not to give up, keep working hard and stay focused.

Surely enough, another week after I took some pictures to compare my starting pictures...what a difference! This give me the motivation and inspiriation I needed to keep going for the 12 weeks.
